2. Technical and usage information
We may collect IP address, device type, browser type, session data, cookies, login logs, security events, referral source, page views, clicks, share activity, analytics events, and performance data. This helps us secure accounts, improve the platform, measure marketplace activity, prevent abuse, and show relevant content.

- To verify students, sellers, phone numbers, email addresses, payment references, and marketplace actions.
- To display listings, seller pages, seller badges, reactions, reviews, questions, orders, adverts, boosts, collections, and update posts.
- To process payments, wallet funding, refunds, seller services, subscriptions, payment confirmations, and transaction records.
- To support moderation, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, admin to-do alerts, account safety, and legal compliance.
- To send important notifications by email, in-app notification, web notification, Telegram, or any enabled communication channel.

UniDeal processes personal information for purposes that may include user consent, performance of a contract, legitimate marketplace interests, fraud prevention, compliance with legal obligations, dispute handling, and protection of users. UniDeal aims to handle personal data responsibly and in line with applicable Nigerian data protection expectations, including transparency, purpose limitation, security, and respect for user rights.

UniDeal may use cookies, local storage, session identifiers, and similar technologies to keep users logged in, remember preferences, secure sessions, support PWA features, improve performance, measure analytics, and protect the platform from abuse. 6. Payment and third-party processors
Payments may be processed through enabled payment gateways and financial service providers. UniDeal may store payment references, status, gateway name, transaction metadata, amount, currency, verification result, and related logs. Sensitive card or bank authentication details are handled by the payment processor and should not be submitted inside normal UniDeal forms unless the platform specifically asks for permitted information.
7. How we share information
UniDeal may share limited information where necessary with payment processors, hosting providers, email/SMS/notification providers, analytics providers, security tools, support agents, admins, dispute reviewers, and lawful authorities. Seller and buyer information may be shared within the platform only as needed to complete protected orders, support dispute resolution, display public profiles, or operate marketplace features.
8. Public information
Some information is public or visible to other users, such as seller username, seller public page, approved products, public seller badges, product reactions count, store reactions count, reviews, Q&A, seller highlights, collections, and update posts. Do not publish information you do not want visible to other users.
9. Data security
UniDeal uses reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect personal information, including access controls, role-based admin permissions, CSRF protection, audit logs, verification flows, secure payment verification, and moderation tools. No online platform can guarantee absolute security, so users must also protect passwords, PINs, devices, and accounts.
10. Data retention
UniDeal keeps personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce marketplace rules, and maintain transaction records. Some records may be retained even after account restriction or closure where required for safety, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.
11. Your privacy choices and rights
You may update certain account details from your dashboard. You may also request access, correction, restriction, deletion, or review of personal information where applicable. Some requests may be limited where UniDeal must keep records for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

UniDeal may send service notifications about account activity, payments, listings, orders, disputes, reports, seller tools, or platform updates. Marketing messages may be sent where enabled and may include available opt-out options, depending on the communication channel.
13. Children and younger users
UniDeal is designed for student marketplace activity. Users who are not legally able to enter binding agreements should use the platform only with appropriate parent, guardian, school, or lawful supervision where required. UniDeal may restrict accounts where age, safety, or consent concerns arise.

Release Code and handover records
UniDeal may process the time a buyer viewed the safety warning, authorized code release, revealed the code, and the seller attempted or completed code entry, together with account, device, IP, dispute, fraud-review, and settlement audit data. These records support transaction security, fraud prevention, customer support, dispute resolution, and legal or accounting obligations.
